Coaching

District 1 deems it vital to have coaches, whether volunteer or paid, undergo USSF coaching education in order to have a proper foundation from which to work with players. The U.S. Soccer coaching curriculum is designed to improve development of players concentrating on creating more organized, age-appropriate training sessions, developing coaching practices and creating an environment that is fun for the players.

In order to achieve this goal the District 1 board will work to set aside funds to support coaching education.  USSF Grassroots Coaching courses that are hosted by District 1 Leagues or Clubs will be reimbursed for the cost of the course and field rental.  CalNorth District 1 coaches wishing to enhance their coaching by taking more advanced USSF coaching courses can apply for coaching stipends on a financial need basis, depending on the availability of funds.

To check on a coaching course in CalNorth go to Coaching Course Registration or check with your League of registration.
